![]() If I’m taking scalps shortly after the market opens, which for me is typically within the first thirty minutes after the trading day but not within the first five to ten minutes, I’ll use the 1 minute chart unless the stock is a little lower volume in which case I’ll use the 2 minute chart to filter out the noise. ![]() I’ll generally use a 9 EMA on whatever timeframe I’m trading on but I’ll choose the timeframe based on how much volume is being traded. A strong trend on a 5 minute chart might not look strong on a 1 minute chart, but you’ll want to pick a timeframe that works for you based on your style of trading. With that being said, a 9 EMA on a 5 minute chart is going to be in the ballpark (not exact but pretty close) to a 45 EMA on a 1 minute chart, so again, it’s sort of arbitrary. The 9 EMA is fairly arbitrary but the lower the number, the more the aggressive the trend will have to be in the timeframe you’re trading in order for the price to hold above or below it. I just found that if a stock is holding above or below a 9 EMA, it’s typically in a very strong trend, which is where I want to be if I’m trying to catch momentum. Mostly trial and error combined with the fact that I saw a bunch of other traders using it when I first started learning. r/PriceActionTrading - Discussing price action trading.visit each related community on Reddit and join their discord chat too!.If you're trying to be an asshole, it's probably because you're raging from a loss, stop and deal with your issues or ask for help instead of taking it out on other people.
